I need to update this site more often... I just uploaded some new pictures after getting back from Oconocon and Free Comic Book Day. My book IS finally out and in print and you can find it at alternacomics.com

Here's my setup I had while I was at Oconocon in Wisconsin! Take a peek!

It was alot of fun, even though I wasn't able to sell too many of my books. It at the very least helped me get my name out there and promote me a bit.

Well it's certianly been a long time since I updated this news section. Alot's happened since then. Here's a quick run-down:

Reboot was going to be brought back to life as a comic series and I participated in a contest to redesign the characters. Although I did not win, I did get alot of comic art out of it and some nice concept arts which are now located in my gallery.

I made a new video which is located conveniently in my Movies section.

I participated in two Nintendo Power Fan-Art contests. I entered into the Shigeru Miyamoto Contest (for those of you who don't know he's the creator of Mario and Zelda) with this entery: Miyamoto. Sadly I lost that contest because too many people copied mine and it wasn't as impressive after having 10-15 other versions of the same picture.

Then I entered into the Mario Party contest at the very last minute and WON by a sheer stroke of luck with this entery: Mario Party. It was published in Nintendo Power's Fan Art section at the back of Issue #218. I'm quite happy about that!

And finally I went down to Wizard World in late August where I met with alot of comic artists and got some good advice on how to break into the comic world. Most of it was simply to keep working on what i've been working on and to just do what I love to do.

It's been a while since I wrote here and I've got some big news. Alterna Comics is going to be publishing my series "FlashBack!"

Another big news is that it will no longer be called "FlashBack" it will be called "Formera." We had to change the name because Darian is not constantly having flash backs throught the series so it seems a little odd to call it that. Names aside, I like it's new title. Formera is the name of the world that Darian is stuck on, so it makes perfect sense (once you start reading it).

I will keep you all informed about what's going on with the publishing thing as news arives. I do not know yet when the first issue will be coming out, but i have finished the artwork and title work for it so it's just a matter of time now.

I'm happy to say that I'll be finally selling my work at the anual MCAD ART SALE in December! I have just sent in my intent to join form and I will be ordering the comics for it as soon as my money clears. In all there will be 28 comics for sale and 2 digital prints which I had lying around and thought it might be fun to see if they sell. I am excited for this and can't wait to start preparing for it with the stickers and forms that MCAD will eventually sell me.

In other news, still working on the internship, though it's going slow because the character I am coloring has alot of hair... and Imean ALOT of hair. @_@; Hope to have something to show for it soon enough, just gotta make the time to do it.

Still accepting commissions if anyone is interested in hiring me. I'll have some new works to post in the commission page as examples of what i've done recently. So be on the look out for that too.

Added another video to the Movies section. This one is a Work In Progress of a short 3-D animated cartoon involving 2 elves and alot of wooden blocks. It's a bit choppy and kinda out of order, but you can ge the general gist of it if you watch it. I'm still adding scenes to it, so it will eventually be complete.

Been a while since I updated the news, but not the site. Got a bunch of new pics that were posted in the Gallery section, uploaded a bunch of my old Video Games in the Misc section, and added a whole NEW section dedicated to my animations. Thanks to the miricle of YouTube i've also added some video footage of some of my games so you can see how to play BEFORE you download. Nifty eh?

Also I would like to say that I've recently begun an internship with an online video game company. I can't say much about the production as I am under a NDA, but I can say that it's going well, though I am still trying to get used to their style of coloring and inking. I'm confident that I'll be able to do well with their company.

Got a few other things in the works right now, hoping to hear back on some things... My FlashBack series is almost ready for a book compilation. I've also decided to sell some of my books at the MCAD art show that's coming up. More details about that later ^_^

Well, we're gonna be moving in about 9 days to a new appartment. Cutting it rather close, but I think we've made it. I can't wait to get rid of this caretaker job that we're stuck in right now.

Also, today I uploaded some new pictures in my gallery! Hooray! Got 5 new pieces up and I'm quite proud of all 5. Take a look if you get a chance!

So I finally finished it. After almost 3 months of working on it, my new compilation book "Andy's Hat" is officially open and ready for sale! You can buy it here at my store on Lulu.com! WOO!

It's been a while since i've been able to update. Plans for moving and working on a webcomic have hindered my time here i'm afraid. I added a couple new pieces to my gallery including some COLOR versions of the covers used in "Andy's Hat"

The Caretaker job i'm in is a real hassle and it's majorly cutting into my creative time for my comics. At this rate i'm never gonna get my stuff out there. But i'm still trying as best I can and I hope that when I have some more funds, to take "Andy's Hat" around and sell it at some comic book stores.

Today I uploaded a "previews" section to my website. It features a couple pages of my comics for you to view. This is helpfull because it's more convenient for people who have no idea what they would be getting if they were to buy my books. Also, it shows off my range of storytelling, as there is quite a mix of different stories.

I finished inking and coloring the first chapter of a new Percy Phillips murder mystery. I intend to put it in the "Andy's Hat: Volume 1" collection. I have 3 more chapters to finish, but they are coming along nicely. I've got enough short stories and long-running series to keep me occupied for a while...

It's been very busy here lately. Towards the end of the month my apartment complex has a lot of people moving in and out, and as caretaker, it's my job to go in and clean the apartments before people start renting. We had a particularly nasty apartment last night we were cleaning... lots of hair everywhere... ick... and the carpet had to be ripped up and redone cuz it smelled like pee. Wonderful... between working on this, the airport, and the video store, I've had a hard time sitting down and getting this book done.

Recently I also ordered 16 copies of my "Patty" and "Legends" books. I intend to distribute them to two comic book stores in Minneapolis: Big Brain and Dreamhaven. It's a small start... and I'm not expecting to make anything from it... but I think it's gonna be very helpful to get my stuff into the stores finally. With the money that this caretaker position gives me, I'm taking my first step into finally getting my work out to the public. The order is being fulfilled as I write this, and hopefully by sometime next week the books will be shipped and I'll have some time to go around and sell them ^_^

Today I began advertising my comics on a website. It's really boosted my page-views in the few hours that it's been up. I don't know if this is gonna really get my art and comics out there, but every little bit helps I think...

I have 3 jobs right now, so it's incredibly busy and hard to find the time to sit down and draw. However, all this money has given me alot of freedom too. I've finally paid off my debts (including one to my girlfriend) and I can finally start to focus on getting my work published and promoted!

In the meantime I've been working on getting a new comic book finished. It's going to be a compilation of a bunch of my short-stories. I've really been working hard to make these really good and professional.

I really hope this all works out. It's been almost 2 years since I graduated from college and getting my art and comics published and known has been very difficult. I think things are going to finally start to turn around though, so here's hoping ^_^
